Lucy and Ross Jones Memorial Scholarship Endowment
The Lucy and Ross Jones Memorial Scholarship was established in 2003 to provide a living memorial to two people who meant so much to us in so many ways, Lucy Jones was know for her soft, yet effective manner and her concern for her fellow man. She was extremely active in both church and community activities. She was a charter member of the Roane Choral Society and served on the Board of Directors. She was a member of the Kingston United Methodist Church, singing in the choir for eighteen years. She was also a charter member of the Annakusa Club, a member and officer of Beta Sigma Phi, a board member of the Regional Library Board, and a board member of the Roane Civic Music Association.
In addition to these community and civic activities, Lucy Jones truly enjoyed her job as the school secretary at Roane County High School for several years. In addition to serving the needs of the school administration, she was best known and remembered for her devotion to and assistance of the students. In virtually all situations Lucy Jones was the person the students sought out when they had problems or concerns. She was a student favorite during her tenure in this position.
