Roane County Retired Teachers' Assocation
The Roane County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship was established in 1992. The scholarship was presented to Dr. Hoppe (who was President of Roane State Community College) by Colleen Barnard, Jessie Wright and Rose Ferguson at a Roane County Retired Teachers’ Association luncheon. The organization sends a memorial donation to Roane State Foundation for each retired teacher of Roane County when they pass away. This is an endowment fund so the award amount may vary from year to year depending on the earnings on the endowment.
Impact
The Roane County Retired Teachers’ Association hopes to encourage future teachers as they continue with their education. The scholarship recipient will be asked to attend one of the organization’s meetings.
