Edgar L. (Jody) Sherrill, Jr. and Marilyn Sherrill Scholarship Endowment

The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships to Roane State Community College students in accordance with the following criteria:

a) Recipient(s) must meet the Foundation’s scholarship eligibility criteria requirements indicated below:
i) Enroll full-time (at least 12.0 credit hours or 9.0 hours for Nursing and other Allied Health disciplines that require clinicals) or part-time (at least 6.0 credit hours) in a degree or certificate program at Roane State Community College.
ii) Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), TN Promise/TN Reconnect/TN Dual Enrollment or Middle College Scholarship applications, as applicable.
iii) Complete any Roane State Community College requirements related to scholarships or other financial aid (i.e. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) release form);
iv) Submit written essay responses through the online scholarship application process.
v) Recipient(s) must be in good standing with the college.
vi) Submit a thank-you letter and photograph of yourself for Foundation donor(s) which can be used in College or Foundation social media, website, events or other marketing/promotional efforts and materials.
vii) These items should be submitted via the Foundation Office as directed in Scholarship guidelines within 10 days of Foundation’s electronic award notification and your acceptance of an award: and
viii) Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA for scholarship renewal while a student at RSCC, unless otherwise indicated in the below criteria. Recipient(s) must reapply each year for this consideration.
Recipient(s) must meet the additional eligibility criteria requirements indicated below:
b) Recipient(s) with or without financial need
c) Recipient(s) must be a Cumberland County resident.
d) Recipient(s) may be non-traditional and/or young adult and/or Middle College student preferably majoring in the art field. If no eligible recipients are found in the art field, other majors shall be considered.
e) Recipient must be a second-year student who will be continuing in the medical field.
f) Submit a thank-you letter and photograph for Foundation donor(s) which can be used in College or Foundation social media, website, events or other marketing/promotional efforts and materials within IO days of Foundation’s electronic award notification and acceptance of an award, addressing the letter of appreciation to:
